Common Questions

Looking for some more information on the club? Here you'll find answers to most of your questions.

How do I join?

It is free to run with us, simply meet us at one of our scheduled runs posted on our Facebook Events Page! We do ask that you please join/register for (free) membership prior to your first run HERE so that you're covered under our RRCA insurance.

Those under 18 years of age may attend as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. Not all routes that we run are stroller friendly. Please be aware that many bars and breweries may not allow minors within their establishments.

What days do you run?

More information on all our runs can be found HERE. Pub runs are typically posted at least two weeks out. Please be sure to see our Facebook Events Page for the most updated schedule of locations.

What are the club rules regarding coronavirus?

We require that you be vaccinated prior to attending a group run. Many establishments still require masking indoors, so please have a mask for group runs held at venues with indoor accommodations. You are not required to wear a mask while running, but you may choose to wear one while socializing. We reserve the right to require a mask for socializing when Covid case numbers are up locally. Please click here for full list of rules & guidelines.

How does the group run work?

A wide range of athletes run with us, from the 13 minute milers to the 5 minute milers, and all are welcome! Unlike other clubs, we don't split into groups based on pace before the run, instead people find their own pace and buddy on the run.

Before each run we'll explain the route/course, and will strive to have someone up at the front to keep the group on course. On trail runs, all of us will typically stop every 1.5 - 2 miles to regroup so that no one gets lost or left behind.

Walkers are allowed but please be aware that admins won't be available at major intersections, we advise having your phone with you at all times!

Can you post/promote my race/run on your Facebook Page?

Unfortunately, we're no longer promoting races that we don't sponsor or host as we receive many requests every month from many people, we hope you understand! If you're hosting a race in the Portland area and you're a Runaways Run Club member please feel free to email us at: maribalow@gmail.com

Help! I'm looking for someone to fill a spot on our relay team.

If you're a Runaways Run Club member, check out our Runaways Social Squad page, where you may post a request for a teammate. Please do not email or ask admins to help find a teammate for your team through the run club, try the social page first. We hope you understand!

Runaways apparel is sweet, how do I get some?

We regularly have apparel for sale at our Wednesday night pub runs, please swing by to pick up your shirts, shorts, hats, or sweaters! We accept Venmo or cash, we can't mail items. You may reserve a new item for free that we have in stock, items may be sold to someone else if left unclaimed after one week.
